ill explain what new zealand did and why it was so effective you can not lock down on and off, if you do a lock down you have to commit or it will fuck the economy and keep it fucked, hence why the UK is fucking stupid new zealand hunkered down for lock down, only grocery stores were open, and yes their gdp took a big hit, but guess what? its already back to its normal numbers while wer suffering what the us needs to do is give support to businesses and citizens during a lock down, and as we saw with new zealand the economy goes back up at an extremely fast rate when lock down is over we are the wealthiest country in the world, tell me why we cant afford to do that?

lemme add im not married to the us locking down again i could be convinced otherwise but the mask mandate is the best item on his list and id stand by that

@momoichi you wanna know WHY we cant afford to do it? Because when we were worried about businesses shutting down due to having no money to sustain business during the quarantine. The government sent out money that went to who? Not your small mom and pop shops. But mutlimillion dollar industries. Now we are in a hole and to do the same again would just dig us deeper. Which i doubt will change. These big businesses are just gonna dip their hands in the pot again and more places will close.

We arent new New Zealand tho we are way larger and just to provide money for the coastal states not including the rest of the US. Is that trillion dollar bill in itself. For my plan what i would do is get these small minor states outta the way first. Let the economy recover then attack the coastal US.

im not one to defend businesses but it was because of the stimulus benefits to businesses that franchises didn't fire theyr employees. so it kinda did help save jobs, even when big companies took advantage of loopholes because to my knowledge, it still preserved jobs we arent in a hole because of the stimulus checks, another round was supposed to go out, and the stimulus checks did do as they were supposed to, they stimulated the economy briefly, and the business relief did help some businesses that did apply you could advocate for tighter regulation on which businesses get it so it goes allocate first to smaller businesses, but that's a different discussion from the one your having. the fact that bars are open is fucking stupid. it is hard to debate against that. but its because we arent new zealand that we can do it even better. we are wealthier, we can afford to support our citizens during a fucking pandemic. if we can put more debt on our deficit to subsidize lower taxes to the wealthy and bale out giant businesses, why can we not support our citizens the same way right now.

@momoichi yes granted it helped save jobs but shut down the main source of income for thousands. My mom worked for a school board and even she was laid off. Imagine that. I just think they should shut off section by section. Start with minor places first. Then restrict the travel to those areas. The whole US going down at once wasnt working. Stricter restrictions as well. Make peolle be fined for not abiding the rules.

Also for the mask policy let me tell you, that will not work. As someone who works in an area where mask use is mandatory. People dont wear the masks properly. I told one lady to wear her mask properly and she ended up covering her entire face with it to include her eyes.

what was her job? it was wrong she was laid off but that isn't nessecarily against a lock down. i would rather people lose jobs than fucking die while our economy STILL sinks, just at a slower rate so you are for a lock down but just selective? but won't that have the same effect, hurt the economy of those counties and states? people will still be laid off and jobs will still be lost, so I'm assuming your still for government subsidizing these peoples pay checks and businesses?
