The symptoms include avoidance -- which isn't shown in his case and this symptom is also very good indicator. 2) The reactions of PTSD are also severe, which also isn't the case for him. Dreams and flashbacks also occur with PTSD. 3) PTSD is very specific. You cannot say someone has PTSD just because their chest tightens or they need to breathe a moment -- it is highly likely just a stress response to an upsetting or depressing memory.The symptoms are clear, so you cannot label something as PTSD just because of a bad childhood. It can affect the child, but it doesn't always become PTSD.
