Why is it ever time someone makes something good we are lucky to get 13 episodes

i could definitely be wrong but i think how it works is america: channels own the cartoons and the animators work for the network (not including when they outsource animation to korea) japan: animation companies own theyr own works and sell them to tv networks but are otherwise independent @sparkie idk about japanese laws but i think in the 70s or 80s they stopped cartoons like he-man and shit from selling merch directly to kids in the show but yeah cartoons/anime back then were ment to sell shit, not entertain like they do today

again i could definitely be wrong there xD i do know thats how it works in america but as far as japan im really not sure im just assuming this because we talk about animation companies with anime but networks when talking about cartoons if im wrong id love to be education otherwise
