Coronavirus. Your thoughts? [Serious and Non-Serious]

Kind of early, but the main thing the vaccine does is it lessens the severity. Death rates are definitely going down, so there's that.

Its still too early to know if death rates have gone down due to the vaccine, compared to just those susceptible to it died already, or maybe social distancing preventing infections.

If my mom contracted covid she would 100% die from it. But she never got it, she did however make it long enough tobget the vaccine. But that doesnt necessarily mean the vaccine helped.

Social distancing? In the US? Ha! We dropped the ball HARD. I'd say it's a pretty strong correlation when death rates keep going down as the vaccine is pumped out. No vaccines last year and we at one point had something like 4,000 a day dying and that's was with "social distancing".

Again those who probably were gonna die from it probably already did. Especially those who did not follow social distancing/ around those who didnt practice it.

We could very well see a return as people use the false sense of security of the vaccine. Again we dont know alot. We still dont know whats next

Could, but as less people are catching it because more people's immune systems cam fight it off, it's much less likely. It'll just be another flu shot in the future, ain't like it's going away permanently. As for social distancing, again, Ha. Barely saw a person wear a mask correctly, every line I was ever in, everyone was up the other person's butt as usual. Hey, Walmart limited the amount of people to like 800 in my local store... Yeah, sounds great, black friday levels of people

So basically full circle to what i said about having to take multiple vaccines. We already know it mutates fairly quick. It can be compared to H1N1 where we have to take a shot every year because it mutates. It could also mutate to a deadlier strand that ignores all vaccinations, but we havent gotten that far.

3 different strands in about 8 months? Cuz the africa strand popped up last year and now the UK variant is making its way here.
