Coronavirus. Your thoughts? [Serious and Non-Serious]

Yeah it's terrible, we're terrible. I've unfortunately learned a lot about the people in my country since 2016. 33% of them are ignorant stupid Conservatives, 33% of them are ignorant stupid Liberals, and the remaining 33% can't take care of COVID on their own.

I'm still working from home, but I work with someone that refuses to wear a mask. She says when she goes out into public she takes care of herself and isn't concerned about other people. Seems like those are the kinds that end up getting it. She says she doesn't wear one for personal reasons but the only thing I can come up with is she's just repeating R rhetoric bullshit and vanity. She just started getting a treatment for the nerves in her face and for the first time in years, she is able to have a straight smile. I thought the masks thing was already settled. I thought we knew the masks help. This is a direct quote from her: "If you're masked then you are taking care of you. You don't know someone's personal reason to not wear a mask. I take care of me when I am out. Others can and will do what they want. @verucassault That's unfortunate on a few levels, not least of which being that wearing masks is mainly done to avoid spreading disease to OTHERS. Anyone refusing to wear a mask is putting other people in danger more than themselves, and they've failed the "are you an asshole?" test.

Our President's test resulted positive to COVID-19. Pretty sure he'll politize the virus and promote hydroxichloroquine even more despite his health being all fucked up because of a fucking stab he took during the Presidential Canpaign in 2018. I don't wish for his death or anything bad to happen, as not only it will bring forth an immense political crisis, as also I would tread a nebulous morality. It is kinda funny tho. He downplayed the deaths of around 40.000 Brazilians, and now he is at risk.

@nebelstern I've been casually paying attention to Brazil. Your president is a fucking nightmare. The world would be better if he dies. Unfortunately, something tells me the person stepping in to replace him would be possibly worse. Your country needs so much help. :( The whole thing with how he handled the fires in the Amazon blew my mind. I don't know why I expected different for a pandemic.
