413x would be a nightmarish raid boss, though. I think its best just to use the D8 to avoid confusion, plus everyone won't default to the middle number.

you could pick 5 and the other person picks 1 and if its 9 youre screwed regardless.

True, but I don't know I feel weird about the dice being a odd number and we forcing it to be a custom thing.
