What was the best convention you've been to?

solid_snake95
What a weird place for a convention to be held. O.o
laffantion
all pretty much the same. Overpriced merch, overcrowded and my awkward nature prevents me from talking to strangers.

I went to anime midwest a couple months ago, first convention ever and it was such a let down... All the acts canceled cause of visa issues, (Deadlift Lolita was prob the biggest letdown that didnt come, either them FEMM or IA) most of the panels were just repeats of stuff that had already been done, but with diff people, and it was split between two buildings so you had to walk half a mile just to get from one panel to another. It was really cool seeing all of the cosplays, and going to all the stalls tho... I spent wayyy to much, but it was worth it still since it was only a 2hr drive away from my house. Prob wouldnt have been if it was farther

Oh yeah, I met the dude behind this shirt design at Otakon also https://www.redbubble.com/people/basedimouto/works/28134787-2b-continued?grid_pos=3&p=t-shirt&rbs=0b8935c5-a4cd-44d8-8788-35642d24a5ea&ref=artist_shop_grid&style=mens Really cool dude, just happened to sit at the same table as him when I sat down to eat my overpriced chicken tenders and fries. He was wearing the shirt and I was like "that shirt is pretty awesome" and he was like "oh thanks, I made it" and gave me his card :U

We don't get many conventions in Darwin. But we have a new one called Geek Con I went to last year. Eric Stuart was there and I was keen for him to sign my frying pan because I wanted a drying pan signed by brock. I learned two things. 1st, conventions don't let you bring in metal what? What am I going to do with a frying pan, cook eggs and throw them at him? Next, it costs like 30 bucks to get a signature. I was shocked it costs money at all let alone that much. You ain't Hugh Jackman mate. I went up to talk to him and compliment his work but no way I'm paying fucking tribute. The rest was amazing. Won a league of legends tournament (local so the competition was easy) and got third in the smash tourney (which was significantly harder). And there was a rave later that night and I met and danced with a girl in a Froppy morphsuit costume. There was also this guy dressed as Zabuza who could do a backflip. I bought an attack on titan cape and my brother met up wtih me after and ran across the city with it on. Finished the night at the Deckbar to knock over some beers and shots. Saw Eric Stuart drinking there too.
