Small convention at Wichita Falls TX called Animania about 2 years ago. They have it annually, but it's called HyperCon now.

The first convention I went to was Daisho con in 2013 and I cosplayed as Edward Elric. I had a great time and people were really excited to see someone cosplaying as him lol. Someone even ran up to me and gave me a cute drawing which I still have.

The 2015 New York Comic Con! Was an awesome time. My coworker at the time had gone a few years and heard I had never gone to a con, so he bought me a ticket and we went together. It was such a surreal experience the first time. I have gone every year since and this year I had tickets for all 4 days :)
