Chatting Advice

acacia12
Some are better at slipping into the DMs than others. Some are good at the introductions but don't know how to build a friendship/relationship past the small talk. Some people struggle with the small talk and go STRAIGHT to the deep and meaningful like a very sad bull charging out of the gates. I'd personally like to hear how to go from small talk and sarcasm to perhaps sharing discords and playing video games and such.

I mean, just casually gaming together isn't deep and meaningful. Just ask them!

Apart from that, there is so much to talk about! Talk about your interests, ask about their interests, maybe you find common ones! (here on MO the love for anime is almost guaranteed) Try to keep it interesting, if you feel the conversation is getting stale or your chatting partner seems to lose interest, try a joke or change the subject~

Oh I can do that for hours. Keeping the conversation interesting is my jam. I just KEEP doing it. Until it seems almost weird for me to do anything else. Or perhaps I'm just overthinking everything. *shrug* oh well I'll try to be more forward in my next encounter. No one else finds chating via message box awkward. Would rather do voice so I can gauge their mood.

Hmmh, these days our generation would rather converse in text I believe. At least us nerds and weebs. And yes! Be up front! Be honest! It's a great trait to have. <3

I feel like just let the people come to you... this shows that they are somehow interrested in your character... so you don't even need to try to act like someone else. stay true to thy self

If we are talking about girls you might be interested in, they will never come to you. No girl ever made the first move. Otherwise, sure, let them come to you. And absolutely always stay true to yourself. That goes hand in hand with honesty.

Relax, don't be thirsty/desperate, just in general try to get to know the person and chat about the stuff you have in common or what interests you. If it doesn't go good, well, that is not necessarily a bad thing, probably even a good thing. Let's you know was not gonna work out and try again to find someone that vibes with you. Be positive, be yourself, be respectful of the other, and always be honest.
