Retro Clone Consoles and Emulation

redhawk
How do you feel when it comes to this? Do you enjoy having a clone console (or the original) to play classic games or rather emulate them and play without spending money. Just curious about it and there's nothing wrong with (except for the legal side of things) Do you own any clone consoles at all? If you're doing Emulation, what are you currently emulating? How do you feel about collecting old games vs a flash cart like an Everdrive or just getting the Roms?

I've been debating on getting the Mega SG, also from Analogue, even though I've never owned a Genesis before and if I did, I wondered if I should get myself a Everdrive for it. Honestly it would be cheaper if I do get the Mega SG and an Everdrive. Without having to send money collecting Sega games. Yea sure I can just do Emulation and not spend any $, but I like to own something physically and thats me. I'm not gonna knock someone who goes the emulation way, to each their own.

I got a genesis, SNES, N64, Mame, Playstation emulator and games for them. Clone consoles are alright but the problem I have is there is a large library of games they can't or won't put on there. Money is one thing I don't want to shovel out more dough for games I already own.

I love my Super NT ♡ Even tho it cost like almost $200 Which is why I'm debating on the Mega SG Since its almost the same price But I've never owned a Genesis or have games for it And owned a Super Nintendo and have some games for it There are some SNES games that I want but are expensive for me, so getting an Everdrive would be beneficial I could also go the Reproduction Cart ways, but that would also cost more money

*feels like she's been summoned from the abyss* I've used emulators plenty of times before. It's a good way of playing games I never had when I was a kid. For example, I never had the Lost Vikings 2 for my SNES before. It's a sucky game, but I did get to try it. Still, though, I'd much rather fire up my consoles and get immense satisfaction from looking at the games I own. Adding to my collection can be pricey, but worth it.

@Cheeto not that hard, but I've played it so many times so I'm used to it. Maybe for the first time it was.
