(I know it's not a video game, but the section seemed appropriate!) Any fans of dnd/pathfinder here? I'd love to hear some of your campaign stories :) Or maybe if you have any tips for an aspiring GM?

I never had the friends to play some good a** D&D or Pathfinder, I always really enjoyed it from a bird's eye view though. I use to watch Critical Role, with the ever so charming Matt Mercer. Participated on some hilarious D&D debates, duh a hand job would be a Dexterity user vs Constitution as the receiver. I also love Game Grumps Tabletop RPG sessions, their comedic humor just makes it that much better. Although I wish Danny "Mr. Business" participated more often. He would make a f*cking rad Barb.
Studying basic DM secrets, there is somethings to consider.
>Never railroad a campaign, the whole fun part of any tabletop is to let your players f*ck about. Always make the end goal really tempting to grab the players attention. Even when they are messing around in that dam inn for the pass 3 hours. Do subtle hints, and whatnot.
Example: End goal, a looney ice warlock causing the world's temperature to drop. While your players are messing around, drop a huge clod of hail at random intervals. It will keep them on their toes, and wanna kill that warlock that much more.
>Fun end battles.
Example: If a player dies prematurely, drag out this fight knowing that one player died. Then kill him or her at the battles climax. Nobody wants to be one-shot by a random a** monster, without lifting a simple sword.

Watch fun videos like the animated spellbook. This series also helps your campaign player proof, from breaking all of your in game obstacles. Or you can also be chaotic evil and just break a DM's game with those tips and tricks.

>DM's are the best actors.
This is a little self explanatory, If you notice most NPC's will be narrated by the DM, if the NPC carry's significance to the campaign. I don't expect you to fill all roles, just important ones. You also might need to personify the setting too. Imitating all those cave sounds by saying "the cave leaks water from it's ceiling, TRICKLE TRICKLE" this way players can imagine the feeling of the setting too.

@bashful_hubris Thanks! I really want to start DMing but I'm really nervous about it. Everyone in my group tends to start at neutral until they decide to change their alignment over the course of the campaign.
