Isn't better that wae dou? Like a rollercoaster ride. It has its ups and downs. Makes it more exciting. It can't always stay the same. That might get boring real quick. Analogous to eating candy and sweets. I could survive off sweets for a few days. But then I'll quickly get tired of constantly eating ice cream, candy and chips. I'll want something different. Some actual food instead. For example: a shonen can't have DBZ like fights 100% of the time. It's exciting at first. But the constant fighting will eventually get boring. What I'm saying is simple. You can't have your dicc hard all the time. Need some time to chill out and contemplate. Know whut I'm sayin weabuu?

@a1ephy why would i prefer a manga with more lows than highs? its normal for a manga to stagnate as it goes from one arc to the other, but to carry that into an arc? absolutely not. its poor writing. cliches are candy. theyr good in moderation (cliches exist for a reason after all, theyr effective narrative tools) but too much makes the story beats redundant and worse, predictable the best manga stay consistent with the quality of their content. tokyo ghoul never had lulls between arcs, it used the downtime to build characters relationships and introduce new ones to flow organically into the next arc. never once did i think 'man, i wish the content would stop being so good' while reading it lol by your logic, youd be bashing our head against the wall because youv gone too long without a headache. id rather have consistency than whiplash. if it was consistently good, i wouldnt be bitching, id be reading it quietly. if it was consistently bad, i would just drop it. instead im just scrolling down pages, cringing at the shitty content til i find something good to be like "nice" about. you dont applaud a manga for building up a grand battle just to end it straight away in an anti-climatic fashion. you dont feel properly entertained after seeing a protagonist contradict their words with their own actions. you dont praise the manga for never properly fleshing out a character. you call it for what it is; shitty writing.
