The Aztecs ate other people despite having plant food. They did not eat other Aztecs only other tribes. They had specialized tactics to capture people in war alive to sacrifice them. Then after the sacrifice they were eaten. Men, women, and children. They would eat the limbs only. The head was cleaned by skilled artisans to decorate towers and temples. The torso was fed to the animals Aztecs kept like Jaguars. Eating human meat was as normal to the Aztecs as us eating a chicken or beans. It's theorized that Aztecs ate humans because pre-Columbian Americas lacked domesticated animals to eat. It's uncertain if there wasn't enough plant food for everyone. They would flavor human meat with chili and tomato sauces. They are indigenous plants to the Americas that we now enjoy today all over the world. The Aztecs are also only one of two cultures in the world to develop a independent writing system. So then is a sophisticated culture like the Aztecs immoral? Just like you say we are immoral for eating animals?

What? Bro i dont wanna eat a dog. Idc what it tastes like. I just dont see a dog as something i wish to eat. If other people wanna eat a dog, they can eat a dog. Im not gonna eat a dog because i dont want to. If i dont wanna eat a dog why would i eat one? Why would i eat dogs if dogs arent something i wish to eat. Hopefully you get the point.

@kuharido That's actually really smart of them to only eat the meat, because the organs of omnivores and carnivores are dense with vitamin A, and some primitive people have been found with vitamin A poisoning. If it is true that they simply lacked the nutrients then I think it's amoral. It is moral to want to keep yourself and your people alive, but it is immoral to kill others to do it, so I have to side in a moral grey area. It was both right and wrong. Also, didn't they sacrifice a Mayan princess or somethin? And the king got super mad cause they didn't practice human sacrifice and didn't know it was going to happen?

@hell_hound7 That is why I'm asking. You just say you don't wanna eat a dog and bring up people that don't want to eat beef, which is usually because of taste, so I asked a clarifying question. Why don't you see dogs as something you want to eat?

Because dogs to me are pets, and i have deemed it myself as something that shouldnt be eaten. But me not eating a few animals is way different than not eating meat at all due to ethics. Dogs are living creatures like cows are living creatures. I wanna eat this one and dont wanna eat this one. Also some animals dont taste good to eat. Some fish taste like eating sand, but salmon tastes good. Plants are living and experience pain and certain emotions. You torture grass by stepping on it. You killed an entire village equivalent of plants to build your home.

@hell_hound7 So you don't want to eat a dog because a dog isn't a food animal to you?

@hell_hound7 Why do you see them as non-food animals?

@momoichi Mayans were an earlier seperate culture. In like 2600BC. I'm just talking about Aztecs cause I've read about their culture more. Their human sacrifice was a blow to the chest to rip the heart out. I imagine it was painful but still a quick death. So the human was killed before they were cooked. Similar to animal slaughtering so I think it's a good analogy. In terms of nutrition it's hard to know how much they had. That would go into diet and if we need meat or not. Which is a whole other subject.

Because i do? I dont need a reason to separate the animals i wanna eat from ones i dont.
