Insomnia something that plagues me on and off. What do you fellow Insomniacs do to counter this.

It would be best to consult your doctor for this.
I can only comment based on my own experience,so this may or may not work for you. I had sleeping problems but it wasn't severe,so I am unsure if it was considered insomia.
1.Sleeping at same time everyday helps a lot to have a consistent body clock.
2. Lessen Caffeine
3. Avoid using your bed, unless you are going to sleep or have sex.
4. Turn of any bright lights and electronics like computers and phones 1 hour before your desired sleep time
5.Do not eat or drink when you are sleeping soon.

Next time I visit my Doc I will, if I remember...
I can probably do well with turning off electronics, though I do love my late night youtube.

foo_fighter pretty much covered all the things you should be doing. The hard part is building those habits through repetition.. You basically have to shift your day by an hour earlier to make sure you have time to wind down before sleeping.
Weed is legal where I am so I use that to help me sleep sometimes lol. The quality of sleep doesn't feel as good as sleeping sober though.
I think you should definitely try to establish a consistent sleep schedule where you can wake up well rested without an alarm.

I just wanna say be careful with medication
Have a friend that took this medication that made him kinda high. Since with time your body starts getting resistance he once took 6 of those pills while he was high and had an overdose.
Medication is here to help, not to take control.

Definitely second the sleep schedule, like having a whole night time routine is a good start. Other non pharmacological options are to try to avoid taking naps, sleeping when you're actually sleepy, stuff like that. It'll take time to adjust but if you're having insomnia and you don't have any restless legs, etc or it's not drug induced, this cognitive behaviour therapy is really the first line of treatment

Nah I don't have Restless Legs or do any drugs. I just have friends who get out late from work, and a bad habit to binge youtube. There is just so much I want to get through in a single day.

I stay awake until I collapse. The best method.
But people already gave you all the necessary recommendations. Try to adjust now to not make insomnia something more permanent.
