Oh. I tend to start with a compliment. I have a ton of graphic tees so the usual "Hey, I like your shirt, where'd ya get it?" tends to be a nice icebreaker.

Start conversations: 1.read their info 2.greet them and ask them questions basing off their info 3.ask them questions about anime/video games they like....and add ur own information to that conversation 4. talk on a chat program and exchange more private information....
