They are still prominent in convenience stores today as well. Nose piercings in women are also annoyingly prominent along with high rider trucks like this one. Some with loud mufflers. http://i.imgur.com/0oLScB6.jpg

@rayelight Better in Japan than America in using mayo. They usually use it in cooking things more than a condiment. Alton Brown used it one time as an alternative in butter and oil in grilling steaks. It's even useful that way on grilled cheese. https://youtu.be/oJJR2f2bPs8
