We still aren't obligated to take any of these "refugees" in. Refugee status doesn't allow you to bypass stable countries just because you WANT to go to a specific one.

Sorry, but that's the end of the discussion.

Im all for people trying to get a better life...but first try to change ur own damn country before doing a complete exodus to another country. You saw what our president's reaction was to you guys coming here. Are people really that dumb? You know his stance, you know his position, you know he is stopping you from coming here at all cost. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU STILL PROCEED TO COME HERE?
We have a process set in place for becoming a US citizen. Skipping that process shows you dont care about our laws and are not a model US citizen. Why would we let you in our country. Our president has to mobilize several thousand troops to twart the migrant caravan's movements foward. Thats just dumb, you are causing so much trouble and you arent even in the country yet.
SMH again im all for immigrants seeking better life...but this aint it chief

Let's not confuse Legal Immigrant statistics with Illegal Immigrant statistics.
Again, you don't want America to end up like Western Europe/Scandinavia.

Okay, wow. There are a lot of things that I need to comment on. First, let me clarify my position:
I think that if we were to allow them in, restrict the types of welfare that are available to these individuals, make them legal, and put them under the tax base, it would lead to a lot more positives than if we were to not let them in at all. If you're trying to sell me the idea that we shouldnt let them in because of how they are breaking the law to get here, you would need to prove that maintaining the integrity of the judicial system for this particular incident outweighs the economic and fiscal benefits of letting them in, which no one has really done so far. The only argument that was presented was that we shouldnt let them in because they are breaking the law to get here.
With that said, I will now address a couple of things that people have brought up.
"legal immigration helps the economy, illegal immigration doesnt, there is a big difference between the two"
From this book: http://www.ncsl.org/documents/taskforces/NAS_Economic_Impacts_Summary.pdf, you can see that what you are saying isnt true

Or maybe this article would suffice: https://news.vice.com/en_us/article/zm5k8j/unauthorized-immigrants-paid-100-billion-into-social-security-over-last-decade
Furthermore, if we were to LEGALIZE them, which is what I have stated I think we should do, it would also lead to multiple economic benefits:

"i noticed your profile says you are from Israel. you wouldnt let the palestenians in just because they want to get over there so badly, would you?"
I'm not actually from Israel, I'm just immature and think it's funny to set Israel as my country. But I would make decisions based on what the outcomes of the action is. If I think it would benefit my country, then I would be in favor of doing it.
"It makes it harder for people to immigrate legally because they have to deal with the flood of illegal immigration before they can get to the people getting in legally. It's the same people who handle it. This is why legal immigrant usually hate illegal immigration. Look it up if you don't believe me."
ICE deals with illegal immigration. USCIS are the ones who give people green cards. Unless I am missing your point? Usually, when I ask you for a source, it's because I tried to look it up and found nothing. Asking for you to link me where you found this information is what would hopefully get us on the same page. Unless you made that statistic up, in which case you would just look like an idiot. Now, I'll try again: Do you have a source for this?
"I wasn't talking about the incarceration rate, I was talking about the amount of women reported being rapped while they were trying to illegally cross the border."
You literally said "Over 90% of women are rapped crossing the border WHICH DOESNT SPELL WELL FOR THE AMOUNT OF CRIME COMING HERE." I just provided you with data that showed that illegal immigrants commit about half the amount of crime as native-born citizens. If you werent referring to the amount of crime that they would commit, then I dont even know why you are bringing this up in the first place.
"I imagine the incarceration rate would be low because they are illegal immigrants avoiding the police as much as possible."
Then why is it that when Reagan granted amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, that the amount of crime from illegal immigrants dropped by roughly 5%?

"My information about lowering the wages for unskilled worker comes from actual experience."
Yeah, I agree that this is a definite possibility for unskilled workers to be impacted by illegal immigration. However, to suggest that this means that they are negatively impacting the economy is fantastical delusion. As I have stated above, they have a long-term positive impact on the economy, and in general, they lower the overall unemployment rate by creating complementary positions, and they tend to open when illegal immigrants come in. Again, the benefits would be increased further if we were to make them legal, which is what I am suggesting.
"Even if you consider that an economic boost they take too much welfare to give back what they take"
Yeah, this is why I am suggesting restrictions on welfare for these individuals.
"Even with all that said, they've broken the law. Trespassed on American soil. That should be reason enough. Unless you're saying you don't care about the law. I wouldn't be surprised."
I really dont think that maintaining the integrety of the judicial system is worth the loss of potential economic and fiscal growth. This is the main point of my argument.
"We still aren't obligated to take any of these "refugees" in. Refugee status doesn't allow you to bypass stable countries just because you WANT to go to a specific one."
I definitely wouldnt consider Mexico to be a "stable country". There are politicians in Mexico who are being murdered due to the cartels. Mexico is in a really fucked up state right now.
"Even Mexico doesn’t want em that seems like a good enough sign for me. BUILD DA WALL"
Mexico literally tried to grant them amnesty. Also, the wall is one of the worst ideas any politician has ever come up with.
I think I covered most of the things that were brought up...

Wow, that is a really good point that really countered my entire argument. You really changed my mind with that one. Quick question: Should I be advocating for every single person in the US to be exiled since I dont open my home to anyone?
Seriously though, this is the stupidest argument that I have ever heard in my life. Since when has it become a prerequisite that I have to open my home to someone for them to be able to reside in the US? Thanks for supporting my theory that you have to be completely fucking retarded to be a conservative.

Whether or not you open your door for them it doesn't matter. They will just open up your door for you if they have to.
