Dang, I've got it on Switch so I can roll on the go. I'm not a big fan of Arc-Sys dropping autocombos into everything lately, but I'm still finding it fun. Rocking Makoto/Yang and Es/Azrael at the moment.

Yea the auto combos are kinda lame. They are no where near optimal though. Doubt anyone who only uses auto combos will get very far..

It's less people getting far with it and more matches being a drag to play. You can only take someone spamming the same combo in repetition for so long before it makes you want to stop playing.

Oh don't get me wrong, cross tag is a bad fighting game. It's got the mechanics of a great tag game. Issue is that the entire roster is filled with only a quarter of each character's movelist. The autocombos wouldn't be an issue in like DBFighterZ where you have more room to experiment. Crosstag on the other hand doesn't allow much room since it's effectively a 2 button fighter. It's great for newcomers and a casual audience, which I'm positive was the marketing on this. It's a shame that the RWBY characters don't have their own exclusive fighter. They've got the works of some good movelists, but because of the game they're pretty basic.

I honestly find Dragonball FighterZ to be worse than BBTAG. Since every character essentially has the same playstyle ultimately in DBFZ: rushdown, rushdown, and rushdown while at the same time there's barely any defensive mechanics. It's getting better but there was just absolutely busted shit like adult gohan's rapid air kicks basically being an unpunishable and inescapable frametrap in the corner for literally everyone except smaller characters like frieza, kid buu, teen gohan, etc. Some of the mid-size characters had wiggle room but they needed perfect timing on a reflect, but for the taller characters like cell it was basically just GG. Block until they fuck up somehow (they probably won't). Thank god they patched that bullshit out :U

To each there own, to be honest I'm more or less biased towards tag because of how much they removed from each character. It took a lot of adjusting to get used to not having as many engage options on Ragna or no longer working around Azraels weakpoint system.
