Majora's Mask theory

I think what you say is super true. One thing though... The manga is what put this out there... The Happy mask salesman is Majora's Mask.

Either that or his servant. Either way, think about it.

Because at the end of the manga The Happy Mask Salesman shows up on the face of Clocktown Tower and picks up Majora's Mask. HMS: Oh my, what a terrible battle. Well, you've got the mask back for me and... (looks up at an angry Fierce Deity Link, and gets very scared) I think I will be off. Very important journey I have! FDL slashes his Double Helix Sword and cuts every mask the HMS has on him but Majora's Mask. FDL: Be gone, Troublemaker. HMS fades into the darkness laughing. Any other theories?

That is could be true. But one last thing... Look at the extra chapter of the manga and it tells us that Majora's Mask was created when a Hylian( who looks a lot like Sir Raven from Oracle of Ages) find himself in a world that has seemingly no time, mean time has come to a standstill. In the middle of the realm was a man eating dragon who possessed an armor that grants it's wearer all their wishes and desires. The Hylian then engaged in a conversation with this dragon, asking him if he was lonely. The dragon replied that he had not noticed that he was lonely until now. The Hylian speculated that he was the only thing that was holding on to the world he had seemingly destroyed, regretting that he was alone now. That him holding on to the old world PREVENTED the new world from even beginning. That his time would not move until he acknowledged the fact. The dragon then thought on this notion, and decided to acknowledge the fact. That's when all the people that he ate, their desires became his, and their desire was for time to be reborn. The Hylian then pulled a drum out of a bag and said that this is the dragons only given stage, that his purpose was to make time move. The dragon danced, and danced, and danced, until he collapsed and died of exhaustion. The Hylian then said to the now dead dragon that his has finally passed and the world will be reborn. He then took out a knife and cut his armor off. Then proceeded to carve out the mask we all now know. Majora's Mask. After he finished the mask, took it to the edge of chaos, and said: "Your power has been firmly sealed into this mask. I just hope that no one in eternity will ever find you." Then he tossed the mask into the Abyss.

That's what I've been trying to look for in the Series. The thing you say about Link not letting go, might be considered as the saying: History repeats itself.
