Racism in romance

otakueaterd
When it comes to me and race I would have to say that race doesn't really matter to me because the fact that I treat people the same way I would treat the mailman. I'll be respectful and try my best to look at the person in a uniform and I'll look at somebody that is of a different color. Seriously I think that everybody is a little bit racist in my opinion because the fact that people say that oh I don't like black guys or I don't like white guys or I don't like this race or I don't like that raise their race is like this or this race is like that I feel that that is not the case. I grew up in a all black family but I act more white than black but just because of the fact that I have a higher IQ and they better respect for Humanity than a normal African-American it makes it truly hard for me to date people with a higher intellect and more respect for others. Here's an example of something that has happened: I was talking to this girl me and her we're having a interesting conversation everything was going well her boyfriend was truly a douchebag and was truly disrespectful to her and would even tell her to not talk to people that he felt that wasn't friends with him if they were not friends with him then he would tell her to not talk to them. It was truly disrespectful and it was truly messed up by the fact that he did that but what really push my buttons was the fact that she said that me and her couldn't date because the fact that my skin color with black it was not because of my personality it's just the fact that she had issues with certain black guys but I always tell people that I'm not that person because people are different it's just the way that people present themselves and not the way that people are created. It's like the way that Michael Jackson when his skin color changed and you think that he is Whiteman now that's not the case he was still black to a lot of people and that's the way that I feel when I look at the mirror every single day where it doesn't matter if my skin color is black or white I still feel that I should have the same amount of respect as the next guy over.

I good sir 100% Disagree oh wait I'm not a white knight... I sir Agree!!! Yes, it's not racist to prefer one race over another or and it's not bad to like someone's culture over another. I know some mentally retarded people think that race, religion, and culture are tethered to the ankles but they're not. You can't be racist by hating on Muslims as there not a race and so your only hating on their ideology and or religion. You can hate culture and events developed by a race and not be racist as it's not the race you hate it's a function or idea that is part of their social structure. Not all racist hate culter or religion and not all culture and religion haters are racist. Now that is out of the way let's talk about what you're saying. It's not racist at all if you prefer or even dislike one race over the other as it's not really a choice that's left up to you. Babies that are ultra young and I think in some cases that didn't even see anyone else's race preferred their own to that of another. Humans are programmed to prefer and favor their own or those that are similar in structure. Next is what does this other individual have that is similar to you or your mom (that is if your male and straight) as most males prefer women that have some kind of similarity to their mother like hight. So the things above cover some of the few genetic things but there are environmental and social things at play too. Like how much of the population is your race and what content and media are you consuming well developing? All of those things along with individuality lead to peoples preferences of one race over the other. I think making the choice solely on race is shallow but it does play a part in what you are willing to spend your life with and that choice should be free for you to make. It shouldn't warrant the hate and context that the term "Racist" Brings along with it. Labeling someone racist but then ignoring all the context data that lead them to make the choice to not prefer them is just silly. I wouldn't date anyone that solely picked me because of my race, ethnicity, and location because those people tend to be shallow and more in love with the concept of you and not you. I and others are not their race, ethnicity, and location. They are an individual and that's the thing each person you mate with should be looking to spend time with. But that's just me...

But, just to reiterate, if you're honest and logical, there is an ounce of racism for those who prefer one group OVER another. Think about it, that group is for one reason or another superior to others in your eyes, hence the PREFERENCE over others. That doesn't imply hate, just that one group is better in one way or another, to you. I prefer certain foods over others, they are better than others to me because of my preferences, but there are many others I don't hate, I just don't prefer. I know, apples to oranges, but the concept of preferences/equality of attraction remains. You wouldn't say you're just not attracted to fat people, you'd say you're not attracted to them BECAUSE they're fat.

I think it should be stressed being attracted to one race more than another or even exclusively one race isn't anymore racist than it is sexist for gays to be attracted exclusively to men alone or lesbians to be attracted to only to women. Personally, I don't mind dating girls of other races, but when it comes to marriage, sorry to say, White girls only, preferably Slavic girls. This has nothing to do with hating or even not liking other races, it is to further the gene pool, but at the end of the day I want my children to look like me, and that should not be controversial notion.

How I always view it is that having preferences for certain physical features isn't racist BUT when those preferences start trickling over personality expectations, that's racist.

Isn't there a study where white racists were found to consume more porn of black women than your average person? So does that mean being attracted to other races is actually for racist? I don't even know. That study might not even exist, I only read about it in the youtube comments section of a video titled "Feminist Pwned Part 57" or something. But yeah, I agree. Race isn't just skin color, it's facial structure and the general trend in facial structures within a race just might not be your thing and that's okay. Although I will say that there are always exceptions. I'm not really attracted to Asian women but I dated one for a while.
