Anime Winter Season 2017/2018

'Sora yori mo Tooi Basho' Ep. 02 At first the plot seemed silly to me so I put off watching until I had more time, but damn... the second episode had me laughing so hard. Totally not what I was expecting. A very fun character got added and the shenanigans that followed were hilarious. I'm gonna have to watch the next episode to see if they can keep this up.

'Darling in the FranXX' Ep.02 Holly cow, that goes beyond perverted. The guy's controls are attached to the girl's ass? It's like they are driving the girls like cars. And the suggestive pistil and stamen references make the authors dirty mind even more apparent. You've been warned. For a mecha/romance, this one is more than a little on the ecchi side.

Kokkoku’ Ep.02 This one is looking pretty violent. The concept of stopping time is cool, but you can imagine the crimes people would commit with that ability. So to make it more interesting, there are monsters that exist in the stopped world that kill you if you try to harm people who are frozen.

'Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku' Ep. 03 My last view of this show was fairly negative, but it's becoming more interesting. If you like RPGs you will probably enjoy watching this. I actually found myself looking forward to the next episode.

So far I haven’t seen any confirmation of a 3rd Season. At least nothing about a date yet. But from what I’ve read it does look like there will be one though.

"Violet Evergarden" Ep. 09 Sorry, but I couldn't help but comment on this. Every anime has some plot holes, but for the most part, Violet Evergarden was actually a pretty good story. Right up until episode 09. All I could think of was Monty Python and the Holly Grail, with King Author saying, "I chopped your bloody arm off"... and the Black Knight "It's only a flesh wound". Couldn't they have explained the arms a little differenlty. That episode pretty much sabotaged any merit the anime had. Holly cow that was bad....Face to palm... Only in anime.

This season is coming to a close. So I'll post of few final thoughts on the anime I followed this season. First up for episode 12... "Sora yori mo Tooi Basho" It had a typical slice of life feel, with a not so typical plot. Gotta hand it to the writer, it was unique. It was pretty cute for the most part, with entertaining characters. But that last episode... Wow, that really pulled on the heart strings... The build up to that last moment... The author really gave it a strong, expected, yet unexpectedly emotional finish. Edited: It seems there's one more episode left... Hope they don't blow it. :P
