Tbh its something to ask your local law about. Either way, have them say what they want the company to do (saying they themselves dont have a policy on that). This isnt ok. It would be one thing if you met and conversed and what-not. But you didnt. And thats the main thing in my eyes. It needs to be reported. Even if no full action, everything needs to be informed. Telling his company is good, law needs to know just in case too.

Thing is, if he's done this to you, he'll do this or has done this to other. Your personal information was given for business use only and any other use is definitely unethical. It's crossing that customer confidentiality and trust boundry.

I reported it to the company. They are gonna do a counselong of not yo do this again and whatnot.
