Hunter x Hunter

zilverwilg
Personally I believe HxH isn't geared for a young audience. Because some stuff that happens is quite gory. In HxH 2011 some scenes have been changed to be less gory compared to the original. Then again the old movies for children in the past had also sometimes dark feels to them, so maby it was made for a younger audience. But one thing can I say for sure Hunter x Hunter is enjoyable for adults. I really want to give examples, but I won't do that because of spoilers. xD

HxH is not meant for young audiences. At first it's pretty light hearted, but each arc gets darker and darker. Anyone who has watched through the Chimera Ant arc has seen som dark stuff, and perhaps one of the greatest battles in anime

Yeah. I was one of those people that thought it was geared to a younger audience, too. Turned out to be one of my more favorite watches. If you know who supereyepatchwolf is, he has a video that talks about why you should watch HxH. If after seeing that it still doesn't seem interesting to you, you won't like it. I only bring it up because its what finally convinced me to give it a try.

I'll give it a try then, you can't say from the box art it doesn't look aimed for children.

If you do watch it, when you hit greed island (which is like the 3rd arc) its pretty boring and doesn't really impact the story much. You should watch the episodes that involve training which is maybe 4-5 of them and then jump to the last 3-5 episodes if you just wanna get past it. The other arcs are good though.

I found I really enjoyed HXH, and who could not love Gon, as he has an awesome personality. I am just hoping that they do more of the anime eventually as hey have delayed it for quite a while now.

Wait is more of it coming? or is that just a wish of the fans.

For those who haven't bothered watching due to the childish look. It is kinda intentional, to come off as the most shounen thing possible. It plays on expectation vs. reality. As the series goes on, the complex character development, plot design, and moral thematics take the series to a dumbly adult level. This includes my SINGLE favorite antagonist in story telling theory. That character arc was godlike. For those asking if more is coming out.... VERY unlikely. The 2011 version caught up to the manga, and the writer is notoriously....slow? when it comes to progression. Though, gotta say, that next arc, would make the Chimera Ants Arc look like the Hunter Exam Arc. Just trust me, it will shock you in the best of ways.
