Advice for a Gaming Rig ($1k)

redhawk
Okay I'll be honest here and admit that I don't know Jack Shit about Gaming PC's, how to build one, Specs, or the inner workings. SO that's why I'm asking for advice, I'm willing to spend $1k (and a bit more) on one. So can I get a bit of advice on what parts to get and stuff? (plz be nice >w>) https://33.media.tumblr.com/c58d0883cdbb261be84cf9a9bad116a4/tumblr_mfqo6bG09G1ro8cnpo1_500.gif

if you have never built one I suggest learning with a Junker pc first also for $1000 you can get a descent pc but to go true gaming PC your looking at the region of $3000 which would equate to an off the shelf price of £10,000 if your not making it yourself as some of the graphics cards and processors will cost you $300 - $600 each as you want gamming spec I could suggest some budget off the shelf gaming rigs if you was in the uk but I don't think they be much use to you in the us unless they would give you an idea what to look for in your budget

for gaming you do not want a cheep PSU get a corsair one of no less than 600W and you will also need a large mechanical storage drive for your games as a 256 gig ssd will not cut for the size of some games it but great as an os drive

No need to build a junker, a 6 yearold can build a PC XD. for 1000 you can build a gaming PC that can handle any game on Ultra, if you need any help with parts send me a pm ^^ I can provide you with prices and best places to get all the parts in your area of the world :D

Fair game. If you're just gaming, you don't need more than, say, a i5 7500 or so. Ergo, you can put a bit more into the gpu, maybe roll with a 1070. Never skimp on PSU, both Corsair and EVGA make great ones. Mobo, as long as it's a socket L1151, you should be good with whatever generally. You CAN do both SSD and HDD, but keep the SSD small and just use it as a boot drive. Case is preference and price. That's just what I'd do.
