Children of the Starlight Sea December 27, 2016 | Andrew Ó Catháin Drifting aimlessly through the dense thick fog that is my memory, I feel as if the ground beneath my feet, my reality; is slowly being transfigured with each weakened step. My consciousness a quicksand, myriad of rage and reason. I am a child birthed by the vortex of thought, connected to the luminous moon by fate; my only anchor to my primitive soul. Ever so scintillating in her captivating glow, she is increasingly bright tonight. I obey her willingly with all that I am, all my discord and balance. I am we, children of the lost. We all exist in this void, thousand man multiplied, screaming forth in our rapture. Vagabonds are we, the wandering children of these shattered heavens. Celestial beings, remnants of the scattered starlight sea; carried far by the winds of fate and time. We are all the chaos young. We are feral, frenzied and explosive. The darkening brought on by the great eclipse of comprehension. We have fallen, we are the intrinsic rain of undiluted passion. We have all descended from our cosmic home, yet we are still all so very heavenly. Madness woven in sublime reason, dripped and dyed in yearning. We are all calculating, all trapped in the dementia of our own creations. We these little dark children, always on the verge of ecstasy, our nova; our mental climax. We are true cataclysm, we are our own apocalypse. Neither good nor evil, we have consumed both, raised by both; the devourers of all. We are the destined children of infinity, blazing brightly with the intensity that is all eternity. We are the black broken fragments of the once resplendent heavenly bodies. We are now the consumers of knowledge, life, reason, love and hate. We are both life and death, joy and pain. We exist now as both the discord and balance of life itself.
