RACISM

napalmamaterasu
"Napalm how do we open up white peoples minds and actually get them to listen" First off you'll have to be open to acknowledge shortcomings of BLM and that minorities have racially dividing baggage as well. If you can't do that how can you expect the white person to do so? Along with that focus more of your effort on educating and enlightening - allow them the chance to have heard the perspective and let their reactions from that point on guide how things go. If you don't want us writing you (people of color) off as someone wanting to cry racism from "go" - then don't write us off as white supremacist nazi's either (fair is fair right?) This next bit is so subtle but will go a VERY long way. Most of the rural white people in particular who probably need to hear this message the most.... well one thing about them.... they LOOOOOVEEE our military so simply starting off with something to the effect of "I would like to thank the veterans of our armed forces for allowing us to have the Freedom to have our movement". Paying respect to our military for our rights goes a very long way and those closed off white people from before ... their ears perked up and eyes opened a little just from doing that. Another thing - while slavery was wrong and atrocious don't attach that to the white people of TODAY - we had no involvement in this. White guilt tactics are such a quick way to turn us off. The SJW culture of the last 8 years has made white people so conscious and afraid to speak out because we get immediately piled on and accused among other things of having "white privilege". FYI white people are getting real tired of white guilt and we're getting tired of it fast. We can usually only say this in the company of other white people without having a hissy fit thrown in our general direction. So to summarize .... You (person of color) wanting to discourse with white people should avoid: *white guilt tactics (including "white privilege") *lamenting without educating/informing *making things racial too soon or when there are other factors present *attaching past atrocities on people who had nothing personally to do with it You (person of color) should: *mention gratefulness to veterans (preferably the earlier the better) *be open to scrutiny of minority racial division baggage *argue stances and issues on merit and facts *admit that there is substantial progress from generations past Of course this isn't full proof or guaranteed but it's something. If someone of color would have the "people of color" version of what this post is meant to function as please by all means.

TBH I've never truly understood racism. I understand the concept and I can tell it apart. But I've never understood the why. I'm a person that can not see the world in black and white, so grey basically (somewhere inbetween). I cant see races, sure I can tell them apart but all I see is another human. I tend to find threads like these very interesting to read in my spare time. However 25 pages in I start seeing a lot of pointless bs surrounded by actually good information. I refuse to read beyond that page. Its quite shameful. If I can have a civilized conversation with actual racist on their views and values, then you should be able to have a meaningful debate without this behavior. Don't get me wrong the arguing is not what bothered me sometimes debates get heated. Its to be expected when you have differing opinions. However, I can not tolerate the name calling. Its truly foul and unnecessary. No one should be called out of their name or in a inappropriate matter. I have gotten something out of this thread so I won't completely write it off. Now back on topic since this issue has obviously passed. @Napalmic Freedom I have truly enjoyed reading half of your post and thank you for posting. You make some valid points and I enjoy hearing others opinions. As for the video I honestly don't have the patience. I will attempt at another time but its highly unlikely.

Ok... there's a lot to process & respond to. I'll respond to all this later, minus the things comments. Yes, I am still ignoring their comments. I still don't give a damn. Boo-hoo. whatever. I'll start with Yaashat "What do we do about it? Stand up, make noise and let it be known that there is a disease that needs to be cured. Yes, racism is here in America and I think many proudly represent it without even realizing what they are doing or how it's affecting everyone, including themselves." I agree. It's the oblivious ones that think it's ok that hurt more than help. When you say something like, 'hey, that's fucked up on a racial level' people flip their shit. As proven in this thread alone, people get really bothered if they're seen as a bigot and reject it, flat out. You gotta have a lot of patience when dealing with someone who you think is racist unintentionally. You're taught it and you need to be 'un-taught' it. Some people actually believed that more POC are in jail than in college. Common Sense debunks that theory flat out. That's a racial statement in itself. Do you know how many people are in a historical black college? Or any other mixed campus? And you mean to tell me that you honestly think that there's more people of color in jail than in college? The response I get is normally, "Well, I didn't think about it that way." no shit you didn't. You didn't think at all. You heard someone say it, saw it posted online somewhere and thought, "you know what, I could believe it so I do." That is racist, to me. Just to clarify, I think this particular event is racist. If you generally go online & see someone post something and go "I can believe it so fuck if it's right or wrong," you're an idiot. If you happen to post stuff like stats about race that are knowingly wrong and still think it could be true, you're stupid AND racist, to me. "We are brought into this world in cultures that we had no control over, but now that we are here, what's next? Change, acceptance of others and realizing that the whole system was set up in favor of certain groups and it still oppresses those who'd otherwise seek change (If they were taught they could change.). However, understanding is the first step towards the cure. What's the cure? You, me and everyone. We are told and tell everyone we're different, but are we? Some think thier intelligence is an indication of being better than average, some think sex is, some think ethnicity, some think religion...etc Wanna know the truth? None are. I was born and you were born of the same, humanity. What makes one better is how they handle themselves and what positive things they bring." I think acceptance that a lot of fucked up things were done & set up to make European/Whites to succeed far more than any other race. It happened. Telling the world that you did the "savages" a favor and brought civility to Africa is a gross overconfident statement that needs to stop being said. Fact is, the only parts of Africa that have rampant parts with a lot of political issues is everywhere Europeans landed and tried to influence and gentrify a culture. Look at South African's new school policy if you want further proof. Not to say that African's don't fuck up their own shit without any help, but when you're fist fighting and someone throws a gun at your feet, tragedy is a certainty, and apparently entertainment. Leave Africa alone. If they ask for help, then by all means. If not, stop. Same thing for Aleppo & Syria, Afganistan, Iraq and so forth. It's called minding your own business. "What should be done to people who are "deemed" racist? Educate, educate, educate. Make it known that the behavior is not correct or good for the well being of anyone. I suppose it really depends on the situation and the kind of racism. Free speech is one of our rights, even if it's hate speech. It's when it incites physical or otherwise criminal behavior, that it becomes a legal issue.(Outside of discriminatory practices in places IE water fountains, restaurants, hotels...etc or work, of course.). I believe that racism should be pointed out rather than just the fact that a certain group( ethnicity) people(skin color) are racist by default. Racism in of it's self should be illegal, but again, you're allowed to believe as you wish." Yeah... pretty much. I have nothing to add to that. Agreement 100% "As for if I think it should be treated like a disease or badge of (dis) honor? Unequivocally, I believe it to be a badge of dishonor. However, racism is the problem, not people. Change what people are taught and you'd be surprised how they themselves change. As mentioned in the video, these things do not happen over night, but without taking a stand and becoming a beacon of hope, you'll never see change, only dissent." Again. Agree 100%

@Neko You remind me of Jason Stokes Everything you have posted have been proven false multiple times from multiple sources. You contradict your own post with your own post. and no, it's not just when one black person dies, riots in the streets, it's when another one dies in police custody, or dies running away, or dies complying, or gets shot for laying on their back with their hands up trying to protect a mentally disturbed child from police, or dies pulling a wallet out upon request, or dies just for being around police (man in NYC was killed by a cop chasing someone else & the cop shoots up the stairs in an apt complex and the bullet ricochets up the building, killing Akia Gurley). It's not my fault people are not outraged when a cop kills a white person. It just shows how much you and yours care about the topic. That's YOU. If YOU are cool with people getting killed by police simply because it's not you or your friends or family, that's fine. Stay your ass on the fence where you're most comfy. It's like people who bitch about Trump & rigged elections but didn't vote. Shut up.

LOL @ the complaints about the video being long yeah... it was grueling wasn't it? For those who watched the video and decided to participate, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. I seriously appreciate you for taking the time out to watch the video. I'll be posting another interview but it'll be of Trevor Noah interviewing President Obama. It's quite interesting and 1/2 as long. Charlamane tha God is the worst thing to ever happen to black people and I'm glad to know him. (lol) That shit had me dying. ok. Next page later today (maybe)
