Yeah, you're right. What we currently have may indeed still be problematic. But technology can be always be improved if people are serious about finding such an alternative. I don't know much about these type of research, but I think since human body's resistance does not depend too heavily on body weight, maybe a more effective way to create the voltage need to be found. Alternatively, we can go for paralyzing chemicals that deactivate the nerve system in a way that's not overly body weight-dependent. And real researchers in this area would be able to propose much better ideas than my simple speculations. This isn't an anime thread, but maybe think about the gun in Psycho-Pass that can shoot in paralyzer mode. We don't know its mechanism, but if we want to, I believe it's possible to design something just as effective. ^me day-dreaming

There are already rubber bullets and tazer guns for those who would prefer much less lethal measures already available. The problem is because the liberals don't like guns and don't want them they don't want anybody having them. They seem to think having a gun turns us all into murderers. I've owned a gun for about a month now and it has not killed anybody (maybe its defective). Since the motivation for gun control resides heavy on irrational fear simple less than lethal alternatives will not be enough of a compromise. The fear of the "assault weapons" is too great. Once again "assault weapons" are nothing more than a smear campaign based off of political fear mongering.

(opinion) i would say; 1. either the government (and military) AND citizens should have acces to weapons- and with that i mean all weapons. 2. OR NO ONE has access to weapons, not the fckin government, nor the military, nor the citizens. no weapons are manufactured. (comments) pff "Arguments for stricter gun laws" - that's all propaganda, lies to feed naive minds. like dude, i kill someone with a plastic bag if i want to. pf "decreasing crime" my ass xD. yo, Iceland has no military, i quote "GunPolicy.org estimates there are approximately 90,000 guns in the country - in a country with just over 300,000 people." and it is the most peaceful country in the world, with the lowest fuqing crime rate, and i quote again "Crimes in Iceland - when they occur - usually do not involve firearms, though Icelanders own plenty of guns." im not trying to link the government to crime rates now hah, *saying sarcastic* "as cops in america would shoot people :D", (no, im fuqin serious, they do shoot people, most likely cuz they r cowards with guns and "are afraid of their lifes" cuz someone is black, or cuz he holds a garden hose (they gonna be strangled to death by that hose[lol i wish xD ] ) https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/series/counted-us-police-killings ) dude that shit with criminals is all propaganda, your government is run by criminals. and they want to take your guns away so you will be helpless :) whatugonnado bout it ?

Guns are neat. Anything that is prohibited in America doesn't rid the country of it; it just raises the price. *Cough cough* Alchohol, drugs, even MOIDER!

Good luck getting guns out of America Pirate guy - and we really shouldn't for any number of reasons. Most people on MO are too scared of this topic to even reply on a thread about it :P (or have no viable input in which case its probably a good thing they stay silent on the matter but hopefully they get some education out of it)

Not a debate really. Law doesn't do shit. If someone wants a gun, they'll get it. If they don't, they won't. In Germany they're illegal and while I lived in Berlin I knew 3 people who owned one anyway.

hehehe i never said to get guns out of america o.O to be honest i wish the "normal citizen" would have access to more .. toys :DDD hahahha
napalmamaterasu
Yeah true just a matter of whether we get them from a legitimate store or the black market / bodega. Not to mention America in particular has way too many to get rid of (peacefully even)
kyros96
mmh, that's a good point Xynomi, im usually the person who's like "if i want something, i find a way to get it"
