Join me everyone for I feel like sharing with you
Join me today! Join me tonight! Get near the fire, sit near the bench! And listen to my tale, let me start today short narration with a question my new friend!
Do you know the fate of shooting stars?
They die.
They traverse at marvelous speeds, racing across the universe in a fantastic show of flames as they race at the final line.
Going at a speed that no being can reach, in exchange of such speed they are destined to die and early death, never stopping until they reach the end of the line, the line that represents their death, the same way we go on our lives, shooting stars do it in a fraction of the time, racing through everything they come across in the path. Never stopping, only moving in one direction with the strength and precision of an arrow aimed at the bulls eye.
Some people cross our lives at the speed of a shooting star, they pass by bringing change with them just to disappear in the multitude of people, they cross our path once to never appear again, they got their own road to travel, and so do we…yet, the difference between shooting stars and ourselves, is that in occasions, we decide to travel behind the shooting star that just crossed our path, trying to reach it, to grasp it with our hands, to be able to feel what that marvel of speed can feel and see.
How does he do that? What does she see? Does their eyes reflect the world the same way? What passes through their head, how could the idea come, why I didn’t think about it? This and many more questions pass through our heads when we see a shooting star on our path.
A traveler once tried to marry a shooting star, to spend his life with her, but the traveler would live for over 80 years, the shooting star had at most a couple of them left. He made a house to keep her there, hoping that in the comfort of a home full of love she would stay. But no amount of love is enough to change destiny.
The shooting star died in a marvelous explosion of fire, marveling everyone that once met her, that at a time might saw it with their eyes. But the traveler could only see his love death, and while sad, he would have done it again, even if she had just a day left. For the fate of a shooting star is to die, bringing marvels to all that see them, and the fate of the traveler is to keep the tale alive.
To make others know the destiny of shooting stars, to make it so that even if she no longer is visible, her memory stays in hearts of everyone, as a memory, as a lesson. No matter how long or short the existence of a being can be, they can touch our spirits and bring change to all around them, for everyone has a bit of a shooting star into them.
Smile brightly today my friend, for you have a bit of that marvel inside of you.
