Achieving Our Goals

Kawaii Girl #5: Alright so I deleted that Pokemon placeholder (#LAUGHTRACK). I would never use fanart as part of my Kawaii series... NEVER!!! (I have standards y'know!) Anyway these past two weeks have been pretty hectic with doctor appointments, meetings, scheduling future appointments/meetings, and a favorable job opportunity if all goes well (not counting my chickens but MAN it'd be nice!). So there weren't many Kawaii candidates this week other than that placeholder. It was the only one colored at that point... Anyway, Kawaii Girl #5: https://i.imgur.com/y8EQtSn.png It's pretty cold outside so I thought I'd draw something "Fall"-ish. That is, admiring a Kawaii girl's bottom as she swept leaves at the supermarket~ （っ＾ω＾ｃ） ("YOU PIG!!!") Well, yeah (#LAUGHTRACK) I don't know what's up with modern jeans but man, they're designed for... appeal! Like banana! Like OUR bananas! ("I THINK WE GET IT, SHY!!!") (I think it's the seams. I can't inspect too deeply tho...) Is this the first jean-wearing Kawaii Girl? I think so! I guess I'll call her... Jeanie~ (#WOMP) Anyways, I like it! The top is very vibrant while the bottom is muted... I THINK THAT'S SYMBOLIC FOR SOMETHING ("WOW SHY THAT'S SOOOOOOOO POETIC!!! JUST LIKE LAST WEEK!!!") Tee hee, I know~ It wasn't intentional tho, I'm just noticing it right now... Okay so the moment of truth you guys wanna know if I failed: 161001 - Progress Report 7: ACT1: 100% COMPLETE ACT2: 100% COMPLETE ("WAIT, REALLY?!?!") Well, more like 95% (#WOMP). I wasn't kidding this week was packed!! I couldn't even stalk MO like I usually do! Anyways... I couldn't quite add the finishing touches to ACT 2, but I'm really satisfied with last month's progress. The script was transformed dramatically. More humor, more plot, more sophistication (yeah...). It's everything I wanted this manga to be: A CONVERSATION WITH MYSELF!!! In short, ON TO THE NEXT GOAL: NEW GOAL: COMPLETE MANGA DRAFT (or "name" as it were in Japan) BY OCTOBER 30TH!!! I'll start drafting ACT 1 while I continue polishing ACT 2's script. Paneling isn't my forte but writing wasn't either so--(#WOMP) Drafting in general will be pretty difficult since it's all about leading the viewers eye. I have a few resources that'll help so no more procrastination! I gotta give it my all! Like that Mariah Carey song ;_; ("That joke again?")... Yeah... Week 7: SUCCESS!!! (minus 5% #WOMP) Things to Improve: I've realized once again that schedules are never set in stone. You can't assume you're free the next day or the next week or etc. When you have a deadline, STICK TO IT!!! ASSUME EVERYTHING WILL GO WRONG AND JUST FINISH THINGS EARLY WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! I'll try to keep that in mind for my new goal! Side note: I didn't play Style Savvy this week... ;_; Liking My Own Progress Report: COMPLETE!!!

@reigami Congrats! And good luck with the toning. @Shy I'm sad that I missed the Pokemon placeholder you had, but oh well. Anyway. I like Jeanie. And I would sorta like to use her for my grocery store story because you said supermarket. That is if I ever decide to make it. Still thinking on if it should be a comic or a game. Congrats on meeting your goal. Your new one has been added to the list.

Kawaii Girl #6: A few days ago I rediscovered the "Colored Pencil" brush in Clip Studio Paint, and I quite like it! I used that for the outline and a watercolor brush for everything else. I could've gone further with the colored version but I didn't have enough time (nor time to catch up on Inktober... which I'll do tomorrow!). I guess I was feeling very "inky" due to Inktober, which is why I decided on a more textured brush. In terms of the Kawaii Girl herself, I wanted something to counter last week's drawing. Despite a similar pose, this one has a slightly different facial structure (droopy eyes), a lowered hair tie, and overall an unsaturated palette. I love how dreary she looks! Seems fitting for October, I think... They both have props. I revisited the original manga file and... was actually impressed! I know what I want to change in terms of paneling; I just have to do it! That being said, I'll mark this week as a failure. I'm already behind schedule, and while this week was especially busy, it's no excuse to put my dreams on hold. This is unacceptable. Week 8: FAILURE!!! Things to Improve: WORK!!! EVEN IF YOU GET NO SLEEP!!! JUST DO IT!!! Side note: I didn't play Style Savvy this week... ;_; Liking My Own Progress Report (despite failing this week): COMPLETE!!! WEBSITE PROGRESS #1 Well due to this recent strain at work, I haven't had the will to physically type out the basic info I want for my site. I know that some info will be added later on as I add more things to the site, like my game projects. But I'm having an overall problem with what I should state about myself and I guess what I (try to?) stand for. But I really don't want to write what basically everyone else puts on their sites/resumes. It all sounds like you're just sucking up to anyway that's willing to toss you a bone because you seem like you'll do anything for a job. All this week, I've just been brainstorming. Thinking of what I should put on my website. Something that is professionally good yet still said in a way that isn't generic. Or looked like that I copied it from some random unknown business company's website. I think I got something, but I'm not fully sure yet.

@Shy This one looks like she works in retail to me. XD I agree and know how you're feeling. I'm starting to lack behind more myself and I can't allow that.

WEBSITE PROGRESS #2 I've managed to come up with something for my site. I'm sure I'll end up changing it multiple times a later on, but it's good for now I guess. I can tell that I'm getting lazier and lazier with this. I hate when I come up with a good idea and then just stop part way. So correct this, I'm going to speed my due date for the whole site by the 22nd. I work best at last minute anyway, so I think this will do nicely. I just want to be able to not waste anymore of my time with nothing done.

161015 - Progress Report 9: Welp, forget about Inktober (#WOMP). It's weird how two weeks ago, I came across a potential job opportunity and HELL YEAH I APPLIED AS FAST AS I COULD!!! But the following week, an even better job opportunity arose! AND NOW THIS WEEK YET ANOTHER POPPED UP!!! Suffice to say it's an incredible issue to have (hashtag millennials REPRESENT!!!), but I feel overwhelmed. I've sent job applications, resumes, attended seminars/training-programs (one that I had to Lyft to southern Jersey for a 5 minute meeting where we only handed in our resumes... WHY COULDN'T WE SEND THEM THROUGH EMAIL?!?! I HAD TO PAY $17 BOTH WAYS!!! I WORE A DRESS SHIRT DAMMIT!!! I EVEN SHOWERED-err, I mean #WOMP), and I just want it to end! Rather, I'd like to get hired as soon as possible to settle-down and continue art-related goals! (and before you ask none of these jobs are art-related #LAUGHTRACK) I guess what I'm trying to say is... this week was another failure (#WOMP) and I have to put my goals on hold. ("But you said you wouldn't!") Shut up! (#LAUGHTRACK) I absolutely gotta seal these deals, and once I do I'll return with another progress report. I'm skipping next week's Kawaii Girl, too, and in the meantime I'll reevaluate my goals and hopefully think up a new schedule/solution. Week 9: FAILURE!!!
