It is a different take in her yeah. I do like the ocean like blue color though.

Emeralda is pretty far in. One sec... I actually have the strategy guide somewhere in storage and I kinda' want to poke at it anyway...

Yeah, you basically won't get her until you're almost at the end of disc 1. She's the last party member to join up.

Yeah, there are some really cool plot points involving her, but you have to remember to do a specific side quest to see them. It also heavily involves Fei and Elly's past, so you'll want to check a walkthrough and make sure you don't miss it.
