What would you do if you fell for someone..someone who could never fall for you back?

@Shawnji You're solid man. I hit my rock bottom already (at least I hope I did.) Not just with her but a lot of other aspects and what you're saying makes perfect sense. I think at the time though I just chose to ignore it even though I gravitate more towards the logic/analytical side of life. The "coulda, shoulda, woulda" theory has always been a problem of mine but as I've gotten older, it's diminished quite a bit. I finally got past it a few years ago and if she's happy, that works for me. At this point, I'm honestly beginning to assume I'm better on my own. Either way, I appreciate the input!

I know that feeling all too well. The woman I fell in love with in high school turned out to be a lesbian. But think about it this way; if they don't ever love you back, is that really a love that's meant to be? Falling in love is like putting together a puzzle. Two pieces may look like they fit, but no matter how much you want them to fit the two pieces are just not a match. You need to find someone you can truly connect with and understand.

The story of my life. >.< I just lick my wounds, heal, and hope the next one will be different. Like Ed said it is better to keep going forward then stay friends, and personally more painful to just stick around and watch them date other people.

Yeah, you can't put a gun to someone's head and make them like you. I'm a big proponent of moving on if my feelings are known by the other party and are unrequited. No sense in trying to invest more time in perusing someone who is not interested in me.

Well if it's absolutely impossible or would cause some sort of major issue, I'd say leave it alone. Believe it or not, in time, you will come fall for another. <--- Sounds like some generic crap, but it's the truth.

Well you don't know unless you make your feelings known. If it's not meant to be or they do not feel the same way move on and spare yourself the misery. Not everyone you are attracted to is meant for you and you can not negotiate/buy attraction and love.

You cant make someone like you. and in all honesty even if you try holding out until they finally look your way I have a saying. "If I'm not 1st place in your heart...I may as well not have a place" so to answer...if I fell for someone who couldn't fall back...wish them best and move on...don't ever wait for the runner up position...its not worth it"
