Random thoughts...

@Panda It is more of a question about necessity. I don´t think I have to be there but if my job is forcing me to do it I kinda have to. That argument is still kinda weak. It is probably in the middle of the week and the reason for me to go is kinda stupid, technically I could do the work in Germany... really don´t know why I have to do it there. Same with other collegues, based on the work, costs could be saved and polution. I doubt I am the only person that has been going on those flights...I wonder how many flights could have been saved, if not for things like that.

@timelessness is this some sort of private plane or? Im not sure what you mean. If you are flying commercial whether you get on the plane or not, other people paid for the flight and will fly in your place. If you boycott it, that doesnt really have much of an effect unless everyone does. But no one will do that because there is no other way to travel the world without 1. Dying at sea 2. Taking weeks to months to do.

If you reduce unnecessary trips in general there would be less flights. This is just for an event that is useless for my career or in general anyones career in the company. For the 2 days I loose with that I probably have to cover for during the weekend anyways. 30 people over to England for a waste of time. I have been avoiding airplanes my entire life to reduce my carbon footprint but with things like that, I feel like my entire efforts go to waste.
