Personally, I find that the soundtrack of an anime can(and should) show a lot about the anime itself. It really helps when an anime has a great soundtrack, no matter what kind it is.

The music is where all the emotion will come out from a scene. Without being in live action film, anime loses a fraction of depth into our minds which are held deeply in reality, so music helps to pull out your deepest emotions as a scene progresses such as in, Your Lie in April, which can tug at your heart strings, or in Hell Girl where the music can get you pumped as if there were a ton of action happening.

Any Key anime (Air, Kanon, Clannad, Angel Beats....), Toradora, Parasite, Noragami Favorites off the top of my head include: Natsukage (Air) <---- gives off that summer vibe so well Last Regrets (Kanon OP) To The Same Heights (Clannad) <---- possibly my favorite song ever Roaring Tides I and II (Clannad) Nagisa Farewell At the Foot of a Hill (Clannad) <---- very sad if you've seen the anime Toki Wo Kizamu Uta (Clannad-After Story OP) My Soul Your Beats (Angel Beats OP) Crow Song (Angel Beats-GiDeMo) Alchemy (Angel Beats-GiDeMo) Brave Song (Angel Beats ED) Lost My Pieces (Toradora) <---- makes all the drama seem so worth it Vanilla Salt (Toradora ED1) Orange (Toradora ED2) Let Me Hear (Parasyte OP) Goya no Machiawase (Noragami OP) Apple Tea (Absolute Duo ED2) <---- seriously underated I could keep going but you get the idea. Seriously watch the above anime if you're looking for good soundtracks.

A few that I think synced up well with their respective series were: Kings for the K anime Unravel for Tokyo Ghoul Snow Fairy for Fairytail Masayume Chasing for Fairytail My Dearest for Guilty Crown And the opening song for Guilty Crown. All of these enhanced my experience for the anime as I watched them and made me feel more for what the characters were experiencing. ^-^
