@Teacup if you really want to wear the dress just get a generic easily recognisable wig, like Hatsune Miku, and wear it. From the wig alone people will know who you're supposed to be. I Hatsune Miku everything - lolita and costumes from other series. She's a singer, so she can wear what she likes. It'll do for wearing around the con, though if you want pictures taken you may not get asked unless it's a recognisable outfit. If you like Vocaloid there are plenty other characters to choose from. Just grab a wig and a headset if you can afford it/want it and go. Personally I think you could pull off a good Rin.
