School dress codes?

Does/did your school have a dress code? What is it? I went to an unusual private school founded by hippies called Harmony. We didn't have desks, we had couches and there was no dress code, if it was legal in public, you could wear it to school. Many girls wore short tight mini-skirts or jeans with cut rips right under the ass or crop tops. I went there for middle school and high school between '89 - '95. I loved it. So it just seams ridiculous to me that so many schools spend so much energy on debating dress codes. Like, who gives a fuck. There are more important issues to worry about.

Public school here. There might have been some dress code but I don't remember anyone paying attention to it or having it enforced. It's funny how school uniforms were a staple for so long in Japan but I heard they're doing it less. In middle school one day we were playing soccer and this one girl was wearing a sports bra that she kept popping out of, on the opposing team. I think I played the best game ever, defending whenerver she had the ball, kept with her the whole game, lol.

Public school. No official dress code. Unofficially, it was dictated by common sense. Some people didn't give two cents though and decided to push the limits anyway. Didn't bother me personally since I'm not easily impressed and I couldn't care less but I know it can cause some trouble. I do think it's an important topic but not important enough to prioritize before other issues that are more critical in the education system (at least in my country). No dress code whatsoever. You could wear as little clothes and as much make-up as you wanted. Though nobody really went crazy on it. We had a couple scene kids though.. they sticked out quite a bit. And lol, I love Jeggings. Screw CH. And Leggings. Skinny jeans are uncomfortable as fuck, so I opt for the former. With long shirts I don't see how they're a problem.

I've worn a mini skirt, just not to school. So sexy with my freshly shaved legs, lol. I was raised by my conservative Catholic grandparents so I didn't wear anything "edgy" till after I moved out.

A dude in my school wore kilts every now and then. When we asked him if he wore it like a "true Scotsman" he said "Maybe". Been keeping my distance ever since.
