Would you date someone with a bad history/emotional background?

Tbh one of my ex had an emotional background, long story short, she was abuse by her father. Today, she is just a regular person, after spending time in therapy.

Yes, if it will pass, or has passed. And, yes, if it's permanent, but not problematic.

For sure. As long as they aren't letting it control their life and/or getting help for it. I have a bad history/emotional background, so I can empathize.

Of course I would. I, myself am one of those people in a way... So yeah, I would. And even if I wasn't how I am now, I wouldn't avoid people with backstories.

Honestly it depends on how bad their history is. I don't mind an emotional background, but I wouldn't want the past to effect their future relationship with me.

Like Fox Queen said, so long as they have the self awareness of the issue and find good grounds for it I wouldn't see the problem. We all have our good and bad days as well as emotional baggage to carry around. Being able to acknowledge and find ways through it is far better than denying the issue's existence. I usually see people as being stronger and more committed individuals when they are trying to work through problems.
