Help me start watching anime!!

Ergo Proxy and Psycho Pass are great for dystopia, though Psycho Pass is kind of subtle about being dystopic. Ergo Proxy's art style is...different, and I have known several people new to anime that avoided it or stopped watching it because of that. Planetes is a sci fi anime you don't see mentioned often, as it occupies a kind of weird niche, and (if you can find it, it's kind of old), you'll either love it or hate it.
