My favorites are Wild arms 2, legend of dragoon, star ocean til the end of time, radiata stories, suikoden, and ff9.

I love playing shin magami tensai's digital devil saga one on my playstation 2 and I still own the game its awesome.

It's definitely gotta be either Legend of Dragoon or Final Fantasy 9 for me x3x Legend of Dragoon has that super fleshed out story and a really unique world. That, along with it's involved combat system complimented its linearity nicely. x33 FF9 is just SO POLISHED. Well, as polished as a ps1 Final Fantasy game gets. (Looking at you, FF7) XDD And it manages to carry a lot of darkness under the guise of lighthearted whimsy in a very specific and magical way. The whole game captures my imagination from start to finish. It's silly, but pulls back on the silliness when it needs to. And Quina is just the BEST THING. &lt;333

Well Halo isnt a Japanese style to begin with. as for me I could list several. The Shin Megami Tensei franchise Persona 4 in particular. The Disgaea Franchise. Final Fantasy. Xenoblade Chronicles. The Last Story.
