Music in Anime

Soundtracks can make or break a series. Hunter X Hunter, Gankutsuou, Kaiji and Mushishi all had excellent osts.

Sword of the Stranger... the music in the last fight scene makes the bout more emotional. It was the type of event in an anime where you lean forward out of your chair and clasp your hands tight until your knuckles are white.

SUSUMU HIRASAWA!!! His soundtracks to things like Paranoia Agent and Paprika have captivated me for a longgggg time. When I was a kid and watching Paranoia Agent on Adult Swim, the emotional pull from the lushness of his music along with the surreal and fluid visuals of that amazing anime created a nostalgic feeling I can never forget. x3x

I thought the soundtrack and even the songs were done well in Tsubasa Chronicles. I like the Naruto and Fairy Tail Tracks too.

I love the emotional tracks of Clannad. Those melodies always hit me in the gut. Especially Nagisa's theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNrXDrs352g. I agree with masterjedi; The instrumentals of Naruto are definitely worth mentioning. Toshiro Masuda's music fits the ninja world so perfectly. You gotta love that flute.
