Oh Cero, before I get into that, I'd like to preface with two things. 1: As someone who lives with supernatural as part of daily life, I spend way too much time explaining to people that the paranormal isn't limited to just scary stuff, so I normally try to stay away from horror stories. 2: I am a medium, and I only state that to explain my world view and perspective on things, not because I expect or even want anyone to believe me. Alright, so that out of the way, I've had a lot of scary stuff happen both directly and indirectly to me. A lot of my experiences tend to blur together. The majority of my experiences don't involve things physically moving or anything like that, but I have witnessed some of that stuff in the past. Nothing near hollywood levels. In fact, most of those ghost documentaries on the history channel I'd say are way too exaggerated to be real. That all said, there are quite a few that stand out, but I'd have to say the most objectively scariest experience I and my friends have had... Yeah, let's talk about that night my brother and his roommates were marked by the wild hunt. (Or so it seemed.) It was really fucking weird, even by our standards. So the night began peacefully enough. I was at work. Still working in the gap at the time. (Yes, that place did have its own ghosties and sprites, but this story is not about them, so I digress.) I get this text at break time from my brother claiming he and his roommates might have been marked by the wild hunt. So for some context, my brother and I both do more than just sense things. We're energy manipulators as well. Meaning we know our shit when it comes to spiritual self-defense against negative entities and various forms of psychic attack. His roomates were also from various spiritual backgrounds. Eliza was an empath. Her husband Anthony, kinda like Geoff and I. A medium with some energy manipulation. Both pagan. Then there is their landlord and one of Geoff's long time hookah bar buddies, Lucious. A practitioner of necromancy (As in divining the dead, not raising them. That's inferno necromancy.) and folklorist scholar. Actually does have a doctorate in that subject. So when I get a text from these people asking for help? Well, I make up an excuse, clock out, and dash for the car. I start to dial in my senses along the car ride, and I find myself being followed by two strange entities that kinda resemble lines. Its hard to explain them, so let me just draw them. https://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/wtf.jpg That's just roughly how they appeared in my mind's eye, anyways. They also had a faint red aura, and the way they moved was just kinda like the bottom would always be attached to the ground while they would sporadically start to spin, then stop and remain stagnant while staying parallel with my car. Of course I'd never seen anything quite so strange like this, but the astral plane is filled with all kinds of fucked up shit, so I just brushed it off like "Oh... Hi." And then the entities started blasting waves of energy at me, which started to give me a head ache. So I reinforced my aura with a shield, blasted one with (And its okay to laugh at this one, we do all the time) mind bullets until it dissipated. The other maneuvered in front of my car, so I projected more energy in front of the car, augmented it with the properties of fire, then floored it. Mind you, it had been ages since any sort of entity randomly attacked me like that. Once you start to get at a certain level, things more or less leave you alone, so I was a bit weirded out by this. But I pressed on. So when I got there, it was a bit passed evening. But the porch lights were on, so the first thing I see when I get up to the porch were blood stains. Like a deer had been gutted right on their porch. I watch my step, and get inside, and ask what happened. Evidently, a cop shot a deer right on their front porch without warning them or anything. And of course Lucious who studies folklore, also knows that one of the celtic gods, Carrion, would mark those for the wild hunt by leaving a deer carcass infant of the victim’s homes. This of course sent Eliza and Anthony into a bit of a frenzy, which Geoff got caught up in by osmosis. Lucious of course remained calm and kept researching, while Anthony went into full survival prep mode, barricading the home, loading the rifle, all that stuff. He’s libertarian. They tend to get like that. But things had already kinda died down by the time I had arrived. The house had been warded, Eliza was baking brownies, and their neighbor Sparky (Also into this sort of stuff) was over watching netflix on the couch. Things kinda got normal, and I felt like I had skipped out on work for nothing. So I got outside to my car, but notice it was kinda leaning weird. So I walk over to the driver’s side, look at my tires, and see a huge gash in the rear tire as though someone took a hand scythe and just tore right into it. My spiritual senses drop, in place of general self preservation, as I start looking around and listening in case there was a psycho hiding somewhere nearby. After all, I was only inside for like three minutes. But as I listened, and scanned the area, it suddenly starts to get really fucking foggy out of nowhere. I start sensing things in the fog. None of it dark or hostile, but just like… It was crowded by lots of very powerful entities. Most nonchalant to my existence, traveling with the fog. Then I hear Lucious shouting from the door “Andric, get the fuck inside!” It wasn’t panicked, just an authoritative command. And given the stuff that I was starting to sense, and the fact that my back tire was torn to shreds, I was just like “Yup! Right away sir!” So I get inside, I tell them about the tire, everyone just stares at me with that deer in headlights look, Sparky takes a look outside the window, then starts to have a panic attack (He’s a shaman, so he’s more tuned into this stuff than the rest of us are), as Lucious starts talking about a creature from Irish Folklore called a grim. In this case, a black faery dog. So some context, we see Irish fae in Nelsonville sometimes, and that’s because its an old mining town. Meaning the beliefs of the Irish immigrant workers kinda traveled with them. They were talking in the time I went outside, and it turns out that three out of five people in that house had seen a black dog growling at them that day in different places around town. This fact was only discovered just then. So Lucious starts talking about a ritual he found to another celtic god, which was meant to quell the hunter god. It was a ritual to the green man, actually. So they start to prepare and perform the rites, as I pull Sparky into the laundry room and start to calm him down. He starts telling me some of the things he saw out there, in rather explicit detail, then starts telling me that Anthony was the one who offended Carrion. I call Anthony into the room, ask him about it, and he doesn’t seem to know what we’re talking about until Sparky interrupts and says “Shelly.” Anthony pauses for a moment, glances upwards in thought, then realization dawns on his face. “How do you know about that?” For some context, Sparky was someone we met at Athens three years after Anthony graduated from hocking. Shelly was one of our mutual friend at the time’s friends. She did something to really piss Anthony off, and then moved with the semester. Sparky starts to explain that something about the way he handled that had pissed off Carrion. Then we just hear Luscious shout out “It’s because he wanted you to kill her.” Then goes on to explain how pagan gods tend to be oblivious as to how modern social dynamics work, and a bunch of weird esoteric stuff that I don’t really remember that well. The conversation was kinda meandering, so I’ll spare you the details. So after the ritual is performed, I stay the night. We have a few small encounters, but the fog cleared up rather swiftly. Next afternoon (I was a 3rd shift worker at the time, so I was never awake until after 1pm), we order a new tire, slap it on, and life continued as normal. So for those of you who ever wondered what’s up with the whole line in my profile that states that fairies scare me more than demons because demons never slashed my car tires before… Now you know the story.
