Truth or Dare

Software Engineering: Design. Last semester it was Software Engineeing: Analysis. And in two days I will have another exam on Real Time Systems.

It would be a turn-based RPG/Puzzle game with a battle system similar to that of Grandia 2.Something with a little more interactivity. There would be 2D models obviously anime-esque set in a Steampunk Industrial Revolution setting with a lot of more rustic looking buildings. The backgrounds would be 3d but painted in 2D. The story would, and this is just off the top of my head, be about a young tech junkie who can either be male or female. The story would center about how the boom of industry affects the world as various towns and cities experience problems caused by tech going haywire. An accidental "breakthrough" by our protagonist(who would be at least in their 20's btw) would cause these haywired machines to gain sentience and seek to kill their creators. I'd have the typical tropes of the best friend whom owes the main character a debt thanks to saving her life and thus uses the Cool steampunk modification on her body to fight. She'd be the powerhouse. I'd have a bunch of scientists from different cities our main travels to join him/her on the journey including a love interest from a town symbolic of western culture. I just thought of how funny it would be if I were describing a game that already existed. But you get the gist of it.

If you could develop the video game of your dreams, how would it be? Describe -Genre Action or SRPG, rated M for violence or something, dunno shit. -Graphics / Setting dunno either, hyper realistic ones?? lmao -Story A fucking cool bastard (genre must be chosen by the player) that wants to rise in power until they can kill the major mastermind of the world just to free themselves, thus destroying everything meanwhile. Good architecture, to the point you can see cities and enter every single one of those buildings. Mature, realistic settings and of course, sadism, mafia, governments and several professionals you can use. -Main Characters First person, at least 3 main villains, anti-hero, hidden antagonist, first person's servants. If you could have any anime character as your reallife sidekick, which one would you choose? Esdeath, obv.

@Max, Those sound like good classes. Is design about planning your code? Data flow diagrams, flowcharts, ERD, etc?
