I'm new to talking to people online; do you talk to people first then send a friend request or do you first send a friend request and then talk to them?

No. BUt just because someone has accepted your frined request don't assume they'll respond to messages.

And don't assume just because someone sends you a friend request that you accept, that they'll message you.

I sometimes send a friend request without saying anything first. Just don't assume that someone will actually TALK to you at all if they accept...

I like when people add me as a friend and then send me a private message. Too bad hardly anyone does. lmao.

Yeah I prefer to talk with that person before befriending just to know them a little better
