Advice? Moving From TX To CA

neet_one
Another think you might wanna be aware of is that CA is full of jerks and scumbags. I've heard people aren't so bad in TX. So don't be surprised if run into a lot of obnoxious douchbags.

Yea I heard about that. Texas has crazies / jerks too. Thanks for the heads up.

In-N-Out is not only in Cali. They've expanded pretty far. There is even one in Korea. I can't really give much advice because I don't know if you're going to SoCal, NorCal, or staying like CenCal (Fresno area). I can say to be smart with your water usage because of the perma-drought. Don't want to have to lose all your money just cause of the water bill.

Actually I've heard TX has just as bad of a water problem as CA, if not worse.

Be prepared for culture shock ? The social economic environment is very different in California... heck even between NorCal & SoCal there is a difference ... The vibe of the people ... the diversity of the cultures The way people think and interact with each other is very different ... I live in San Francisco and I don't think I'll fit in well in SoCal with the exception to Import car culture. . . ohh ya, and everything is super expensive here... because I still live at home NOT because I don't have a job but because the cost of living is so damn high

@ donnie - I might be in SoCal. I'm still considering all my options. That water thing sounds bizarre to me. I'm in S.A. and the rent where I am doesn't go crazy on water at all. I think I pay like 20-40 bucks a month? - Something like that. But that's only because it's also added in with garbage removal and repairs or whatever altogether. @neet-one - Where I am I haven't noticed that but yea that's kinda true. @mrzsfo415 - This lady I was designing a website for told me hipsters walk around barefoot - everywhere. Is there more weird things like that? I'm curious XD In S.A. - some people are not serviced without shirts or shoes on.

anime_tyrant, sometimes I see people walk around barefoot but not often. It's not uncommon for guys to walk around without shirts on here and for women to walk around half naked too. Occasionally I see people wearing pajamas on the streets too. People around here tend to have a very "I don't give a fuck" attitude about everything. That includes guys who wear their pants around their thighs to show off their underwear.

I can see how that could be a very amazing thing and a very putting off type of thing. What you described kinda sounds like people that shop at Wal-Mart here LOL

I am not sure about SoCal ... but at least in the san francisco bay area nothing people do really surprise me anymore because I am used to it ... and I am not sure what you actually pay for $20-40 bucks a month ... but that much money does not even fill up my gas tank ... My car insurance is like 160-180 a month on top of a $560 a month car payment and all this is before gas of course ... I sure hope you are rolling in $,$$$ every month

@mrzsfo415 - I'm optimistic about it. I'm going with a few roommates so the bill will be easier on all of us. And we're saving up in advanced too by like 5 months worth of rent. Thanks for all the info man. It's very much appreciated.
