When someone ignore your message and never replies back

i try to reply to everyone MINA!!!! if i haven't replied recently plzzzz try again i was sick for a bit and neglected my computer

A lot of people add me, but they never say anything. Sometimes I'll get a message but don't feel like writing a big response so I'll just do it later. Also answering 'hi how are you' a billion times gets boring. Most of the time I don't get any messages though. Probably cause I'm abrasive. I could clean a coffee stain up off a tile floor pretty easily. Fuck I'm so cool

People who out right ignore you are scum, I'd rather the person actually have some backbone and fess up that they aren't interesting in chatting, the point gets across and there is no unnecessary charade

One thing I've noticed is that sometimes people don't see messages till latter. sometimes those new messages get greyed out for whatever reason, so people might not know they got a new message from someone. Sometimes when I get multiple messages pop up at once I'd close out the chat boxs so I can go respond to them in their own tabs, but there have been times when I'd put off responding to a message for a bit because it was a long read or I just wouldn't know how to respond at the moment, and in doing so have forgotten to get back to the person for a while at times. Usually I get back to people within a day or two at least and try to respond to every PM I get. Those chat box things really aren't well suited for messages that are more than a few sentences. That and they can be really annoying when they pile up and take up the whole screen (they should really use tabs like Steam chat boxs). I imagine it's worse for girls who have all the guys on the site spamming their in box. If someone signs on and has 20+ messages I really can't say I blame them if they prioritize the ones from people they like more and possibly running out of time to get to the rest.

Good thread. Isn't it kinda unfair to assume that everyone else has the same level of dedication to an internet site as you? And condemning them if they don't is kinda rude in itself. It would be nice if the same social cues of talking in person carried over online but expecting it is unrealistic. I do think the people that are playing the internet friends by numbers game are annoying and I try to ignore them. But personally I'm not usually able to express my thoughts clearly and have to spend a good deal of time editing and reediting my messages so they are coherent to other people. In that process I can easily get distracted and forget to finish the message.

Agree with Michael about the first part. You can't expect everyone to message you back, especially since it's online. Maybe they really don't have time, maybe they didn't see it, or maybe they just don't like you for some reason. Either way, waiting for someone's response, getting frustrated when they don't, and calling them seems like a waste of energy. If they don't respond, just move on honestly.
