Windows 10 download is a scam

lol. fun. I am running a server off of windows 10 Pro and its running just fine. Use it to watch anime on my 50" screen. I have also upgraded my laptop (an 8 year old XPS 1530) and it runs without any problems. Just takes getting used to but there are a lot of features in 10 that I did not have in 7 that I am already loving. Also, why isnt it Windows 9? Because Windows 95 and Windows 98 have the string 'Windows 9' in them and programmers (outside of Microsoft) were lazy and having it say Window 9 would break stuff. In addition, they had a few other reasons besides that (mainly marketing reasons) so they decided to go with 10. Also... If you are installing Windows 10... Save yourself the headache and just go through Microsoft's website. They even have a Media Creation tool that is amazing (when it works). It took me about 45 minutes to download and install the entire thing. And the upgrade worked flawless (from what I see so far) for me from 7Pro > 10Pro. However, I do understand reluctance to upgrade. My main gaming machine is still running on Windows 7 until I start to see nVidia and game companies explicitly state that the game runs on Windows 10.

Dollish, if you downloaded the fake one first the virus would have already been on your computer when you downloaded the real one. And that virus could have affected the real windows 10. But I do agree with you, I'd rather just get the new OS when I get a new laptop. It's better that way

I'm still trying to figure out why mine won't go past 6% when installing. It downloads fine, it just won't install. I'm a bit computer illiterate, so there's that too...
