So i have not gamed in a few years due to work. I am not a fan of the direction the video game industry is heading, but would like to get back into gaming. My Retro systems were stolen but i still have all my old games. Famicom, NES, Super Nintendo, Sega etc. Was curious if anyone has had any experience with the retron systems and if so would be willing to share. :)

It's good if you want to save space and only have a modern tv to play old games on due to the upscaling.
You'll want to play with original controllers though as the one included with it isn't very good. It also doesn't have 100% compatibility with every game, but it's mostly unlicensed games/reproductions that don't work.
It's down to personal preference, as long as you don't mind not playing on the original console then it's a good investment.

Just get an emulator at that point (the Retron is essentially an android emulator with DRM), using the actual cartridges does nothing for you in terms of gameplay.
If you really want to use the cartridges or controllers you can get various adapters, but the Retron itself does nothing for you, especially given its price. PC emulators are more accurate and reliable and don't put restrictions on what you can load.
That's just in terms of practicality, if you care about ethics, you should know that the Retron creators (Hyperkin) violated open source licenses of emulator developers, many of which are unhappy having their work used in such a way, but have no funding to fight against it. They don't see a penny, and while they don't do it for money, it's sickening to think that their work is being abused for profit.
