@dyadka_yar there were legitimate leaders that taught in America like Swami Rama, Yogi Bhajan, Swami Prabhupada. Then Yesudian who taught in Switzerland and Yogananda in the US who was a bit before the hippie movement.
The sweeping statement they all had a bastardized view doesn't hold up. There were those influenced by counter culture who found competent teachers and dedicated themself to yoga.
