William Boyce Thompson funded the American Red Cross mission in Russia to ship arms to the Bolsheviks and export millions of dollars to them. Jacob Henry Schiff funded it directly because Tsarist Russia oppressed Jews. With Nicholas II gone, Russia could become a free enterprise society, a thing that people from Wall Street didn't really like. So they wished Russia to become a "corporate socialist" country so their interests remained unscathed.
