Jokes aside, my personal thought that makes V better are that: - It's still ye olde 16bit spritework - I loved the job system. Every character can be literally what you want - History isn't a nuanced shit (subjective) - Grinding feels satisfactory (also subjective) - Soundtrack is an immense improvement compared to FFIV - The traditional Final Fantasy experience, above all. Something VI doesn't have - You can actually have multiple pieces of equipment, unlike in VII that your only sources of defense are your level, the Materia LVUP bonuses, a FUCKING ARMLET and some protective magic... not to fucking mention VIII, where you have literally none (I can be wrong tho) But yeah, don't take my word for it. I fucking like Paladin's Quest and its sequel, Lennus 2 for the SNES. Two fucking bad and unbalanced games.

Cait Sith>Cloud Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Breath of Fire IV, Live-a-Live, Xenogears and SaGa Frontier 2' plots are way better in quality and pacing than FFVII... well, except SaGa Frontier 2, which is a mess. But a quality mess nonetheless. Legend of Mana, Tactics Ogre, Live-a-Live and SaGa Frontier 2 are especially underrated gems. Still about FF: V>VI>IX>IV>VII>II>VIII>X
