Most isekai light novels are incredibly boring after the premise
It usually starts as interesting, cool and daring, then it becomes a festival of "lol they become dragon ball brrrrrrr"
I swear... Every... Single... Isekai... Is retarded with it's power ups

Best isekai anime is re:zero because the protagonist remains weak and useless the entire anime. His magic affinity sucks, his only power can be activated through death which starts him over at certain checkpoints which he has no control over, every obstacle he has overcome wasnt done by him alone but rather by others.
Most isekai are boring, infact most anime are boring. They give you an overpowered protagonist and a villain that beats the protagonist half to death but they still win. I genuinely havent seen an anime where a strong villain who beats the protagonist actually wins. Undefeatable evil. Even hunter x hunter couldnt achieve this.

Dio defeated Jonathon in part 1 of JoJo
And Pucci technically "won" in part 6

Isekai is indeed a very trendy phenomenon in anime right now... I was never big on the genre myself...

I get you but I feel like it's impossible for some form of it to not exist.
People will always cling on to a belief, especially those in unfortunate situations trying to find a light at the end of the tunnel / something to give them comfort. The problem is that it's basically a form of escapism and, like most types, it tends to attract a good amount of people who aren't too bright or mentally stable. This makes it really easy to manipulate and take advantage of these groups which can also screw other people unrelated to the groups in the process.

Religion is an archaic tool that was used to control people and maintain order. These days it seems a lot still cling to it as a cope or just 'god of the gaps'.
